While walking my dog I saw a young dad I had never seen before at the neighborhood basketball court with his toddler. She was running around in diapers having a blast while he shot a few hoops and then chased her around while she screamed/giggled excitedly. There are things that will happen to you that will make you realize your priorities. Your family should be one of them, your health another.

Do not let it keep you from your goals. Eat well, eat less, eat better. We’ll make it as easy as possible to get through these next few weeks/months, whatever it is. Follow us on FB Live, email me for home workouts, rent some equipment if you have room.

This, too, will pass. Things may be different, but they can be better, and we will adapt.

We’ve had several people take advantage of this offer. We’re expanding it to include Step benches and Balls. If you’re interested reply to in**@al********.com. We’re not going anywhere, but we do also have a few limited items for sale if you want to keep them in a permanent collection 😉 Let us know your thoughts.

If you would like to ‘rent’ some of our equipment for the next few weeks and get credit for future training, you may do so at $1/pd for weights, $2/pd for kettlebells, $100 per barbell, $25 per bench. This is the minimum it would cost me to replace something.

When you return the items you will get credit for training in that same amount. In other words, you won’t get a refund, but you also won’t be out any money to use the equipment as long as you return it in good condition.

THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE, but you could ‘rent’ any type of equipment for any amount of credit::

2 15-pd weights = $30

1 25-pd KB = $50

1 bench = $25

1 Barbell = $100

2 45-pd plates =$90

2 25-pd plates = $50

2 10-pd plates = $20

1 RipTrainer = $50

1 TRX = $50

Total rental = $460 = 3.3 months credit towards training

In addition:

Large Fitness Balls are $5 each.

The black/grey and black/orange Reebok benches will be $50 rental. The blue benches with two risers would be $25, 4 risers $30, 6 risers total $35.

Governor’s Order & Will The Coronavirus Ever Go Away?

If you saw the news today you know we had the first case of COVID-19 at WSMR. Also, the Governor’s order states that social gatherings are now limited to 5 people and even more businesses are required to shut down. There is a link to the order at the bottom of this email.

This isn’t going away….”the virus is just going to sit you out, it’ll just circulate quietly among households and then you’re going to let them all go again and phoom there’s no reason it shouldn’t take off again, unless you’re ready for it.”

It’s important that your teenagers and college-age children know this. The interview is with a disease expert with 30 years experience fighting polio, Ebola and other diseases. He’s one of the worlds top officials in charge of fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Soap vs Bleach

Obviously bleach is easier to spray and let sit, but if you haven’t cleaned the surface it may not matter anyway. This is why soaping up and rinsing away is the first choice when you can do so. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/03/why-soap-preferable-bleach-fight-against-coronavirus/

Will Coronavirus Ever Go Away? What a Top WHO Expert Thinks | Time

There are reports of people dying of coronavirus who are otherwise healthy. What have your teams seen in terms of who the virus is killing?

One of the things that terrifies me now is, as this is spread in the west is, there’s this sense of invulnerability among millennials. And absolutely not. Ten percent of the people who are in [intensive care units] in Italy are in their 20s, 30s or 40s. These are young, healthy people with no co-morbidities, no other diseases.

We don’t understand why some young healthy people progress to severe disease and even die and others don’t. We don’t have clear predictors.

What would your message be for young people around the world?

This is one of the most serious diseases you will face in your lifetime, and recognize that and respect it. It is dangerous to you as an individual. It is dangerous to your parents, to your grandparents and the elderly in particular and it is dangerous to your society in general. You are not an island in this, you are part of a broader community, you are part of transmission chains. If you get infected you are making this much more complicated and you are putting people in danger, not just yourself.  https://time.com/5805368/will-coronavirus-go-away-world-health-organization/

Makes about 98-100 crisps.

·         1 12-ounce package of wonton wrappers/skins (about 48 wrappers)

·         natural cooking spray

·         6 TBS turbinado sugar (pure cane sugar works also)

·         1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon

1.    Preheat oven to 400ºF (~205ºC). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

2.    Slice the wonton wrappers down the middle so that you create rectangles.

3.    Line sliced wonton wrappers onto the baking sheets in a single layer. Spray the wrappers with cooking spray, making sure to cover all the surface area of each piece.

4.    Sprinkle sugar on top of the wrappers. Don’t be afraid to sprinkle liberally. Next, sprinkle the cinnamon. I found it easiest to just shake the cinnamon from the container rather than pinching some in my fingers and then sprinkling.

5.    Bake the wrappers for 6-7 minutes. Be careful! They burn quickly, so pull them out when the edges start to turn slightly brown. I baked everything in two batches.

6.    Let the crisps cool for a few minutes and enjoy!

7.    Store in room temperature in an airtight container. https://www.wideopeneats.com/20-easy-recipes-use-wonton-wrappers/
